Aronyan continues fight in Baku
Armenian chess players performed unsuccessfully in the 1/32 final of the Chess World Cup.
Grandmasters Gabriel Sargsyan and Hrant Melkumyan with the score 0.5-1.5 lost to Maksim Vashye-Lagrav and Perez Dominguez respectively and left the fight.
Our strongest chess player Levon Aronyan at the beginning of the game with Ukrainian Alexander Areshchenko had territorial advantage, afterwards he weakened the pressure and gave a chance to the opponent to equalize the position. As a result they again tied the game and the score became 1:1. The winner will be decided tomorrow in tiebreaker.
