Executive Director of the Russian-managed Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA), Yevgeny Bibin today left the sitting of the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) without answering journalists’ questions. “Give way!” Bibin told journalists. ENA Spokesperson Natalya Sarjanyan spoke about allegations concerning the sale of the company. She said they are ready to discuss the issue if they receive a good proposal. At the same time she dismissed the reports that the ENA will be purchased by Moscow-based Armenian businessman Samvel Karapetyan. The PSRC today decided to fine the ENA a total of 60 million AMD for procedural violations under Article 42 of the Armenian Law on Energy. All PSRC voted unanimously to fine the company which did not please its executive director [Yevgeny Bibin]. The latter again reminded PSRC Chairman Robert Nazaryan of his letter in which he said that he did not agree to the 7-dram increase in electricity tariffs and stated that the 17-dram hike requested by the ENA is substantiated. His words angered the PSRC members. “I have the impression that it is you who must decide what to do and how to do,” Robert Nazaryan told Bibin. The commission members also expressed their dissatisfaction with Bibin’s behaviour.
