It is difficult to say whether the human wall formed on Baghramyan Avenue between activists protesting against rising electricity prices and the police was crucial or not, but it is obvious that the human barricade had a deterrent role, opposition lawmaker Nikol Pashinyan wrote on his Facebook account. “Let us hope that there will be sufficient number of volunteers, including members of parliament, lawyers, intellectuals and journalists, who will again visit the standoff site in order to exclude violence there. “Once again I want to stress that the human wall is built with one aim and one slogan: violence must be excluded, none of the parties should apply force. The initiative does not aim to coordinate the civil movement protesting against the energy price hike,” Pashinyan said.
