Robert Minasyan: Noah was the first tourist to visit Armenia (video)
Rector of the Armenian Institute of Tourism, Robert Minasyan, believes that Armenia is the first country that tourists should visit. “The first tourist to visit Armenia was Noah, and no one questions the fact. And the first tour operator who sent the first tourist to Ararat was God,” Mr Minasyan told reporters today. He says much work has been done in Armenia’s tourism industry over the past seven years. However he is not satisfied with the situation in the industry and says there is much to be done, there are issues that require resolution. In particular, Mr Minasyan is also dissatisfied with the work of guides. “They need to be patriots with a good knowledge of our country. Not everyone can be entrusted the responsible mission of representing our homeland to foreigners,” he stressed. Mr Minasyan says 2015 was an important year for the industry. Speaking about the visit of reality TV show sisters Kim and Khloe Kardashian and their entourage, he said any celebrity visiting the country can boost tourism in Armenia. The rector of the Armenian Institute of Tourism does not agree that services are very expensive in Armenia.
