Armenian church in Aleppo bombed
Militants have shelled Holy Forty Martyrs Church in heavily-Armenian-populated city of Aleppo in Syria, Al-monitor.com reports. The church was blown up with the help of bombs planted inside the building. The blast resulted in the destruction of the chapel. The church dates back to the 15th century and is an important center of the local Armenian community with its cemetery. Many icons, cross-stones and samples of Armenian cultural heritage are stored there.
