Armenian women’s team is the 7th in the world
Armenian women’s chess team took the 7th prize at World Team Chess Championship held in China. Today in the final round our team faced the team of India. Lilit Mkrtchyan defeated one of the strongest chess players of the world, Koneru Humpy. But her teammates Lilit Galoyan, Maria Kursova and Susanna Gaboyan had unsuccessful performances and were defeated. So the Armenian team yielded with 1:3 score and remained with 7 points and finally took the 7th prize. The team of Georgia won the first prize by scoring 17 points out of 18 possible. Russia took the 2nd prize and China was the 3rd.
