Mahcupyan was dismissed from his post

Etyen-Mahchupyan

Etyen Mahcupyan, Armenian Adviser of Turkish Prime Minister, was dismissed from his post. Hurriyet newspaper informs that the reason for the dismissal is Mahcupyan’s age, which is inappropriate to the post. Recently Mahcupyan has made a speech, where he has called the mass killings of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire genocide. Mahcupyan’s speech, which followed the famous speech of the Pope, stated that what happened to Armenians in 1915 must be called genocide in the case, when the happenings in Africa and Bosnia are called genocide. “The term “genocide” has more psychological than political meaning for Armenians,” he said. But according to Hurriyet, Mahcupyan had already been dismissed from his post before making his speech.
