Most of the lawmakers gave evasive assessments of the fact of arrests of the Founding Parliament’s members: “If there is clear and operative information that the actions of those people have violated the laws and order, the relevant authorities, which must have taken measures, would have violated the law, if they hadn’t done it,” thinks the BHK lawmaker Mikayel Melkumyan. The SIC noted in its statement that the arrest of 5 citizens including the arrest of the members of “Centennial without the regime” movement prevented the organization of mass disorders on April 24. Head of the BHK faction Naira Zohrabyan thinks that this statement needs additional commentary: “I think that the bases and reasons for the arrest of those people must be presented more clearly.” “Heritage” faction secretary Tevan Poghosyan is waiting for the proofs of the law enforcement officers and he assures that they will follow so that everything is done within the legal framework. He says if it is necessary, parliamentary hearings will be hold in the future.
