Armen Ashotyan 'corrects' journalists (video)
Minister of Education and Science of Armenia urges everyone not to politicize the action of Russian serviceman Valery Permyakov, who is suspected of killing six family members in Armenia’s Gyumri city. “Everyone in Armenia is shocked by the appalling crime and mourns the loss of the Avetisyan family. You will hardly find any person in Armenia who does not want the suspect to be tried by Armenian law enforcement agencies but the issue is to be considered in the legal field,” said Armen Ashotyan. Talking to journalists, the minister expressed his disagreement with the fact that the Eurasian Economic Union does not ensure the security of Armenia as it was promised earlier when Armenia joined the Union. “Instead of saying EEU you had better say CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization),” said Mr Ashotyan. The minister then spoke about the political situation in Armenia and reflected on the activities of the agency he heads.
