Levon Zurabyan to Galust Sahakyan: You should be made accountable for you actions (video)
Head of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) faction Levon Zurabyan spoke in parliament about the bill submitted by the non-governing forces at the previous four-day sitting which suggests discussing the amendments to the Electoral Code in order of priority. “However, the government also submitted four urgent bills. The Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly does not regulate the sequence of issues. The parliament speaker is not authorized to decide the sequence of issues either. Hence, it was decided to discuss the bills according to their chronological sequence, which was the only acceptable option. Soon, the government submitted another two bills referring the change of the government structure and draft budget for 2015 which were equally important. I just want to hear why they violate the principles and avoid discussing the opposition-submitted bills,” said Zurabuyan. “I wish the opposition were as strong as to make us avoid discussing their bills,” said Parliament Speaker Galust Sahakyan. In reply, Levon Zurabyan said that the parliament speaker contradicted himself with his quotes and words. “It is good that you have contradicted yourself. The country is in a deep crisis caused by poor management, there is a popular uprising. Without any explanation, the authorities refrain from discussing the issues raised as a result of protests and this is not the first time. In fact you say no to the opportunity of voicing people’s complaints and concerns here and should be made accountable for that,” he said. “No one should fear us, and you need to get accustomed to this form of respect,” said Galust Sahakyan.
