Human rights activist: Criminal circles feel safe in Armenia

The murders and stabbings of the recent days have caused panic and discomfort among citizens in Armenia. Human rights activist Artur Sakunts says the criminal world has always been active in Armenia which he accounts for the atmosphere of impunity. Representatives of criminal circles feel safe in the country because instead of chasing them the police are fighting against the opposition and civil society activists. He says criminal circles in Armenia are controlled by Russia and their activation is another step [by Russia] to pressurize Armenia. Human rights activists are concerned that the authorities in Armenia do not want and are unable to fight against criminals.
