Geologist: Dinosaurs and flying lizards lived in Armenia
Dinosaurs and flying lizards lived in Armenia in the past, says geologist Hayk Melik-Adamyan, a researcher at the Institute of Geological Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia.
"In the 1980s, a St Petersburg-based archeologist and geologist Atarbekyan found a bone of a flying lizard in the area between Nor Andznaberd and Khndzorut villages in Vayk," Hayk Melik-Adamyan said adding that an article about the discovery appeared in the Russian media only in 2005.
"Perhaps when the bone was discovered in Armenia, Russia had more urgent problems to write about," says the geologist.
He regrets to say that today no research is carried out in Armenia where one could once find giant mammals and elephants.
