Writer Vrezh Israelyan to be buried June 16
The farewell ceremony for famed writer, dramatist Vrezh Israelyan will be held at 2:30 June 15 at the Armenian Writers' Union in Yerevan.
The funeral service will be held on the same day at 6:00 pm. The writer will be buried on June 16 in the village of Ashnak, the Ministry of Culture reports.
Vrezh Israelyan was found dead in his Yerevan apartment on Friday morning. He had a gunshot wound and was said to have committed suicide. He had been diagnosed with metastatic cancer days ago.
Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan has sent a letter of sympathy to Israelyan's family in which she said, "It was wih deep sorrow that I learnt about the death of one of the best writers of our times, dramatist and patriot Vrezh Israelyan. The only consolation for us is the great literary heritage he left which will plant kindness, humanity and sense of patriotism in our future generations."
