War veterans demand meeting with premier
A group of Karabakh war veterans who have been staging a sit-in at Liberty Square for the third day, today marched from the square to the government building demanding a meeting with the prime minister. They were joined by fellow war veterans.
The group was received by Alexander Ghazaryan, Head of the Department for Letters and Complaints, who said Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan was ready to receive a delegation of four veterans.
Reserved Colonel Volodya Avetisyan, one of the participants of the protest, called on his friends to return to Liberty Square. Some of the veterans refused the offer, urging that the premier come out and listen to their demands.
The veterans declared a three-day sit-in at the square demanding improvement of social conditions for themselves and their comrades.
