Why did Prince Charles visit Armenia?
Environmental activists in Armenia are convinced that the arrival of the Prince of Wales to Armenia is connected with the gold mining industry in Amulsar.
Prince Charles, the first British royalty to visit Armenia was invited to Armenia by "Yerevan, My Love" initiated by UK-based former Armenian Prime Minister Armen Sargissian.
Arthur Grigoryan, a member of ‘Save Teghut' Civil Initiative, says Prince Charles was invited personally by Armen Sargissian who has been appointed member of the Board of Directors of Lydian International Ltd which is operating Amulsar gold deposit in Armenia.
Hayk Aloyan, Director of Geoteam CJSC, says the Prince's visit is in no way connected with the operation of the gold mine.
