Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan has issued a message congratulating high-school graduates on the occasion of the "Last Bell," a tradition surviving from the Soviet times announcing that teenagers are leaving their years of schooling behind.

"I congratulate you on the occasion of this remarkable day the memories of which will accompany you throughout life.
You are making your first steps in the journey to a greater life. No matter which direction you take it is highly important that you remember that you are successors of a victorious generation and you should try your best to maintain, develop and enrich the achievements which were transferred to you at the cost of numerous lives.

I am sure that you will not only protect but will also add new qualities to the national values which have been passed from generation to generation with the faith to see them enriched.

We are delighted by your success and are convinced that you have enough strength and willpower to overcome any difficulty in your way and you will have your contribution to the welfare and prosperity of our country and our beloved capital.

Once again, I congratulate you on this beautiful day. I want you to remember that we owe our teachers for our knowledge, true lessons of life, small and big achievements. I cordially express my deepest gratitude to our teachers for their patriotic work. I am confident that you will realise all dreams and hopes your parents and teachers pinned on you.

I wish you good luck, happiness and new heights of success, my young friends, Taron Margaryan said in the message.
