Editors’ patience is over
Editors-in-chief of newspapers have begun a multi-layered struggle to preserve their copyrights in media sphere. They think that internet news sites hinder their activity.
"There is a "Operative" site, that writes materials against me every day, yet it presents a media review every day and earns money. I just don't want it", editor of "Hraparak" Armine Ohanyan told "A1+".
Today, editors of 6 dailies have expressed their protest with an announcement. "Our patience was exhausted and we were not able to resist that flow any more", Armine Ohanyan says.
According to her, those sites which use others materials without reference have a bigger income than printed media. "You open those sites and see that there is more advertisement than in printed media".
Editor-in-chief of "Azg" Hakob Avetikyan thinks that because of those sites people do not need to read a newspaper any more.
He says, that it is already 10 years they have a note in the newspaper about using references when taking the given material of the newspaper yet no one follows it.
The editors hope that the sphere will be refined and they will work with each other through agreements.
