Farmers agree to open Yerevan-Armavir highway
Residents of hail-stricken communities of Armavir province have agreed to stop the protest action and open Yerevan-Armavir highway after talking to Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan.
The residents were promised to receive a response to their demands till Thursday. The farmers promised to head for Yerevan with their families if the issue is not tackled by then.
The residents of six communities of the province blocked Yerevan-Armavir highway since early morning, demanding full compensation for the damage caused by a recent hailstorm. They demanded a meeting with Serzh Sargsyan and Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
