Erevan to take part in "Earth Hour" global campaign
Today from 8:30 to 9:30 "Earth Hour" global campaign will be held in Yerevan. The external illumination of symbolic buildings and facilities as well as street lighting will be turned off for one hour.
It is already fifth consecutive year that Yerevan takes part in "Earth Hour" global action.
"Earth Hour" international campaign was first launched in 2007 in Sydney, Australia, where 2 million people switched off their lights in order to combine the efforts of humanity to fight against climate change.
In 2013 more than 150 countries around the world are going to participate in "Earth Hour". It will take place in the whole world on March 23.
