“We have become street people"
Today, about 20 people gathered at the presidential residence that were requiring new homes and financial compensation for converting their apartments in the Center of Yeravan as a public superior benefit 5 years ago.
"CITY CENTRE DEVELOPMENT" company has taken the apartments of 180 residents at the streets of Tigranes the Great, Khanjyan, Hanrapetututyun, Firdus with the contract's precondition to return new-built apartments to the inhabitants after 3.5 years.
"If they can not provide us with shelters, why did they destroy our houses? We have become street people, we have to do a hunger-strike or migrate from Armenia",-resident Mayis Yepremian says.
They are all living in rented apartments and they say that they can not be patient any longer.
There are 3 proposals made by the company- apartments already in existing buildings, financial compensation or apartments in the building which is being built on site.
