Major “hedgehog” Aramayis Sahakyan dies at 77

In his 77 years of life died Armenian writer, satirist, poet and publicist Aramayis Sahakyan. He was suffering from blood cancer.

He was born in 1936. May 24, in Artsvashen village. Graduated from Xachatur Abovyan State Pedagogical Institute, faculty of Historical linguistics.

He also took part in lliterary higher courses of Moscow Institute after M. Gorky in 1967. Worked in "Avangard" newspaper (1960-1965), in "Garun" literary magazine (1967-1970), in the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League of Armenia (1970-1971), USSR State Committee on Television and Radio Broadcasting (1971-1977). Since 1982 he was the chief editor of the satirical magazine "Hedgehogs".

He became the winner of all-Union musical competition for his text.
After the collapse of the USSR Aramayis Sahakyan continued publishing his "Hedgehogs" magazine.He also worked in public television.
