Armenia observes Memorial Day Jan 7
January 7 is Second Day of Nativity, Day of the Remembrance of the Dead (Memorial Day) known as Merelots in Armenia.
Liturgy is served in all churches. Also, requiem services for the repose of the souls of the dead will be held. Following the services, people will visit the graves of their relatives.
By a government decision, the Memorial Day has been declared as a special non-working day across the country.
