Police on shooting in Yerevan
Police in Yerevan received a report on Dec. 5 that Samvel S., 41, had been taken to hospital with gunshot wounds of the chest and abdomen from the city's Aram Khachatryan street.
Samvel S. told police officers that at around 2.00 a.m., Dec. 5, he noticed an unknown person of about 40 near the entrance to Aram Khachatryan 4 and wanted to find out his identity. The man tried to escape but Samvel grabbed him at the entrance knocking him to the ground. In the meantime, a second person showed up and shot at Samvel several times in the chest, abdomen and right arm. The two took to flight shortly afterwards.
A criminal case has been filed under Articles 34-104 and 235 of the Armenian Criminal Code.
Investigation is under way.
