Yerevan, Marseille to deepen cooperation in health care

Armenia's health Minister Derenik Dumanyan received on Friday Deputy Mayor of Marseille Didier Parakian.
The French official presented to Derenik Dumanyan the circle of cooperation between the two sister cities [Yerevan and Marseille], and expressed wish to carry out programs in the healthcare sector.

Didier Parakian said that the agency coordinating the activities of the hospitals in Marseille, is ready to cooperate in training physicians, exchange experience, supply medical equipment to Yerevan. The deputy mayor of Marseille also offered to jointly organize free operations.

Derenik Dumanyan considered all proposals as acceptable and added that since the devastating earthquake of 1988, all Diaspora-Armenian physicians have been closely cooperating with the Armenian healthcare sector. The Armenian official also expressed readiness to support any initiative towards development of the sector, the Ministry's press service reports.
