Serzh Sargsyan congratulates Armenians on Victory Day
Serzh Sargsyan has addressed a congratulatory message on the occasion of Victory and Peace Day.
"Dear Compatriots,
I cordially congratulate you on the occasion of Victory and Peace Day.
Victory in World War II opened new opportunities for development for Armenian people. It was a historic opportunity which allowed our Republic and our people to register great and serious achievements in almost all spheres in the following years and decades.
Armenians brought their contribution to the victory through enormous sacrifice.
On May 9, 1992 our modern-day freedom fighters repeated the heroic deed of their grandfathers and fathers, thereby multiplying the glory and honor of the Armenian arms.
The liberation of Shushi once again opened new doors for our people's peaceful, creative work and prosperity. This victory, too, was achieved through the greatest sacrifice of our people.
I once again congratulate us all on the occasion of this great holiday. Armenia, Artsakh and the entire Armenian nation are determined to defend our peace and advancement, reads the message.
