“Fraternal” mayor invited to Beirut

Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan today had a meeting with Mayor of Beirut Bilal Hamad.

Hamad is in Armenia to participate in the celebrations dedicated to the declaration of Yerevan as the World Book Capital.

Yerevan and Beirut have been fraternal cities since 2000.
Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, Mayor of Beirut Bilal Hamad underlined the important role and significance of the Armenian community of Beirut and expressed certainty that the relations between Yerevan and Beirut would soon grow and become more practical.

"Our cooperation in solving issues together and exchanging experience is very important, especially taking into consideration that in some cases the issues of our cities are similar," mentioned Bilal Hamad.

Taking the opportunity, Hamad invited Taron Margaryan to Beirut for an official visit.

At the end of the meeting, Taron Margaryan once again emphasized that Yerevan Municipality is open and ready to discuss and support the implementation of investment projects in Yerevan to the best of its ability, reports the Department of Information and Public Relations of Yerevan Municipality.
