Sargsyan leaves by train
Serzh Sargsyan today paid a working visit to Lori and Tavush provinces.
In Lori province the head of state participated in the opening ceremony of the Zamarlu Bridge built in the Vanadzor-Ayrum sector of the railway. The bridge exploitation will ensure safer transportation of trains in that sector.
After the opening ceremony, Sargsyan left for the Shahali Station in Vahagnadzor by train. At the station, Sargsyan was introduced to South Caucasus Railway CJSC's programs for the development of an Armenian railway. During the visit, Sargsyan and President of Russian Railways Vladimir Yakunin discussed issues related to construction of the Vanadzor-Fioletovo railway and the programs for railway development.
Serzh Sargsyan also participated in the opening of the fully renovated medical center in Alaverdi. The center has been rearmed with state-of-the-art technical equipment and necessary items and will serve the residents of Alaverdi and nearly 19 nearby villages.
During the working visit, Sargsyan was introduced to the restoration of the sector of the Vanadzor-Alaverdi-Georgia border interstate road that was collapsed due to a landslide at the 82nd kilometer section of the road. It was reported that 35% of construction had been completed and that the entire construction would end after the first semester of 2012.
