New homes: apple of discord
Not only the delay of the distribution of homes, but also the decision of belonging cause a real headache for homeless families with more than one child that suffered from the earthquake. There are serious discrepancies for several families.
The Petrosyan family in Gyumri is facing an issue. The Petrosyans' three children started their own families after the earthquake, but the order is that the number of rooms in the homes provided to homeless families is equivalent to the number of people whom they lost during the earthquake, if the number of members of the families hasn't gone down. In such cases, the number of rooms also decreases. This year their three families consisting of 11 members will be granted a 4-bedroom apartment. Some of them, including Rima and Suren Petrosyan and their four children have decided to live in a shack and won't be homeless anymore.
