Vladimir Hakobyan’s first defeat
Armenia's chess players were left out of the struggle for medals one round before the end of the European Individual Chess Championship in Plovdiv.
One of the leading players, Vladimir Hakobyan suffered his first defeat after losing to French chess player Loran Fresine in the 10th round and is currently in 22nd place with 7 points.
Tigran Petrosyan and Sergey Movsesyan were also defeated and they each have 6 points. Gabriel Sargsyan tied his match, but that's not even enough for him to win a prize.
