Some 150 environmentalists and individuals concerned about the fate of Mashtots Park have gathered at the avenue demanding the municipality to annul its decision and dismantle the half-built kiosks in the green area.

A1+'s journalist reports from the ground that a group of policemen led by Lieutenant Colonel Robert Melkonyan are negotiating with activist Vahram Soghomonyan.
The activists are chanting, "We are the owners of this city, go away!"

Earlier, Heritage party founding leader Raffi Hovannisian had joined the group. He was welcome with loud applauses and vociferations.

The policemen demand that the group clear the area; otherwise they threaten to apply tough measures. In their turn, the activists demand to halt the illegal construction at the avenue.

A1+'s journalist reports that construction equipment is being removed from the park to the cheers of the environmentalists.

The group is going to give a press conference at 5:00 p.m.
