A number of Armenian residents, who have been deprived of their property, are going to spend the night outside the presidential residence in Yerevan.

Residents of Yerevan's Buzand and Yerkmalyan streets have been gathering in front of the building for three days now, demanding a meeting with the president. They have lived in rented houses for six years since they have been denied access to their flats in a new multi-apartment residential building in central Yerevan.

They have already signed preliminary contracts with Gabbnakshin Ltd - the chief shareholder in the construction project, and paid the required sum of money. Later, they found out that their apartments had been resold by the company. The aggrieved home buyers are going to hold a sit-in outside the presidential residence together with their children.

If the issue is left unaddressed, they are going to request asylum from foreign embassy accredited in Armenia.
