What did the inspections show?
The nationwide army recruitment commission summed up the results of the 2011 spring army recruitment during a wide-format session held at the RA Ministry of Defense today.
Among participants of the consultation headed by Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan were the heads of other state administrative bodies, heads of provinces, employees of military commissions and military registration offices nationwide, members of the medical commissions, high-ranking soldiers and representatives of other supporting structures in charge of holding the army recruitment.
Seyran Ohanyan attached importance to the need of the event and mentioned that one of the most important processes for the armed forces was its replenishment within the framework of army recruitment. Attaching importance to organizing army recruitment in an atmosphere of justice and legitimacy, the Minister of Defense expressed gratitude to the military registration officers that had worked generously during the spring army recruitment and gave strict warnings to those who had had flaws.
Deputy Head of the Main Headquarters of the Armed Forces, general-lieutenant Valeri Grigoryan delivered a report in review. Speaking of the results of the 2011 spring army recruitment and the upcoming recruitment, Grigoryan mentioned the recruitment's successes and certain flaws.
Head of the Control Department at the Ministry of Defense, Colonel Armen Sahakyan presented the results of the inspections at military registration offices. Army recruits' documents and personal data have been inspected in detail and there have been contradictions in some of them.
In his speech, RA Deputy Prosecutor General, Military Prosecutor Gevorg Kostanyan touched upon the violations of the law and crimes committed during the spring recruitment, as well as the analysis of the criminal cases that have been instigated. The military prosecutor underlined the flaws and violations of the medical commissions.
Several representatives of military registration offices, law-enforcement bodies, medical commissions and other structures were awarded the Ministry's medals, certificates and gifts for efficient organizing and holding of the spring recruitment, reported the MD press service.
