Embarrassing act at military unit
The "We Won't Keep Silent" civil initiative has issued the following statement:
As already informed, according to an agreement between "We Won't Keep Silent" and the Ministry of Defense, more scandalous cases will be made public.
Today's revelation was one of them.
Yesterday soldier from military unit 21127 located in Mehrab community of Tavush province, citizen of Yerevan Hovhannes Yesayan (born in 1992) called the "We Won't Keep Silent" hotline and informed that he had revolted against the discrimination at the military unity and had gotten into a dispute with the chiefs, including commander, colonel Seyran Ghazaryan and chief of the headquarters, deputy colonel Artur Kirakosyan.
Ghazaryan and Kirakosyan, according to the soldier, took advantage of the dispute and took the decision to settle their differences by sending the soldier to the court. According to Hovhannes Yesayan, the military unit administration provided the wrong materials to law-enforcement bodies and made sure he was sentenced to a two-month arrest.
The court's ruling has entered into legal force, but the military unit administration isn't providing the soldier with the ruling. Hovhannes says the administration is doing this so that the 10-day limit foreseen by the law on appeals ends.
The telephone conversation was recorded and is being distributed at the soldier's request. The recording was sent to the Ministry of Defense this morning.
