The government took another decision on the Trchkan Waterfall issue during a session today. Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan proposed to take a decision on including Trchkan Waterfall in the list of specially preserved monuments.

"The Ministry of Nature Protection has studied the issue, and the President has assigned the ministry to take decisions according to which we have neutralized the risks. Despite that, during the session, environmentalists raised an issue. To not put the waterfall at risk in the future, they propose to give the waterfall a special status. In that case, the government will guarantee that the waterfall will not be at risk and the existing water resources won't be used for other purposes," Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said.

Let us remind that the "Let's Save Trchkan Waterfal" initiative demanded prohibiting the construction of a hydro-electric station near the unique natural monument that could lead to the elimination of the waterfall.
