RA Prosecutor General meets U.S. Ambassador

Armenia's Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan today met the newly appointed U.S. Ambassador to Armenia, John A. Heffern. The Prosecutor General greeted the U.S. Ambassador, congratulated him on his appointment and wished productive work.

A. Hovsepyan highly appreciated the level of cooperation between the USA and Armenia on the struggle against the criminality and expressed confidence that the newly appointed U.S. Ambassador to Armenia could contribute to the deepening and development of relations.

The Prosecutor General also referred to the programs implemented by the U.S. support towards the trainings of the law enforcement bodies of Armenia as a result of which there is a positive progress especially in the struggle against transnational crimes.

The Ambassador highlighted the cooperation with the RA General Prosecutor's Office and appreciated the latter's role in the struggle against criminality which is carried out in the Republic of Armenia.

A. Hovsepyan and John A. Heffern exchanged views on the possible ways of cooperation and stated the necesity to create a correspondent legal basis in the form of bilateral documents which would more clarify the mechanisms and ways of cooperation between the law enforcement bodies of both countries.
