NA Speaker resigns to head election headquarters
The Public Relations and Information Department of the Armenian National Assembly has issued a statement confirming the news about NA Speaker's resignation.
"On November 1, the Executive Council of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) convened a meeting where Armenian President and HHK Chairman Serzh Sargsyan suggested that NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan head the election headquarters of the Republican Party of Armenia.
Mr. Abrahamyan accepted the proposal and decided to leave the post of Parliament speaker to fully concentrate on election processes. He will submit his resignation during the NA sitting on November 14," reads the statement.
