Europeans interested in NK conflict

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan today received members of the delegation of the European Parliament led by head of the delegation, Co-Chair of the Armenia-EU Parliamentary Cooperation Committee Milan Zabrnoch.

The delegates were interested in regional issues, Armenia's relations with neighboring countries, as well as democratic processes, issues related to governance and the current interior political state in the country.

Touching upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Prime Minister Sargsyan underlined the need for a peaceful settlement of the conflict and attached importance to the OSCE Minsk Group's efforts in that direction.

Speaking of the EU-Armenia cooperation, the head of government expressed satisfaction with the process of negotiations over the EU-Armenia Associated Agreement, adding that during his September 19 visit to Brussels, he had presented the agenda of new reforms comprised of measures in 33 directions to EU Commissioner for Enlargement and the European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule. Tigran Sargsyan praised the activities of Euronest and mentioned that it creates a good opportunity for strengthening of bilateral inter-parliamentary relations and exchange of experience.

The delegates of the European Parliament are in Armenia to participate in the 12th session of the Armenia-EU Parliamentary Cooperation Committee to be held in Yerevan on November 2-3. The Co-Chair of the Armenian side is MP, Chair of the NA standing committee on European integration affairs Naira Zohrabyan.
