Aronian ties his game against Ivanchuk
Armenia's Grandmaster Levon Aronian tied his 10th round game against Ukraine's Vasili Ivanchuk at the Grand Slam Final Masters in São Paulo, Brazil.
Another tournament leader, Magnus Carlsen (Norway) tied with U.S. Hukaru Nakamura. World champion Viswanathan Anand (India) beat Vallejo Pons (Spain), restoring his shattered reputation. After the games, Ivanchuk and Carlsen took the lead, with 15 points each. However, Carlsen defeated Ivanchuk 1,5:0,5 during the tie-break, taking the main award of the tournament.
Aronian, Anand and Nakamura shared 3rd-5th positions with 12 points.
