“Crops” will be abundant

The solemn opening of the 2011-2012 academic year of Gevorgyan Spiritual Lyceum (University of Theology) was held at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

There to speak on behalf of the lyceum's superintendents was superintendent, Father, Archimandrite Gevorg Saroyan. Congratulating the students on the new academic year, the Holy Father particularly mentioned that the superintendents' main task was to create an environment in which each student could identify his best attributes, discover the spirit of the institution, as well as his ego and image.

The Holy Father also expressed gratitude to the Supreme Patriarch for his love and care for the Lyceum and thanked the administration and professors for their ongoing efforts with the students.

In his speech at the end of the ceremony, the Catholicos of All Armenians expressed satisfaction with the growing number of students and the confidence that the Mother See would have much "crops" and new graduates that would join other clergymen in serving the Armenian Church and the Armenian nation.

This year, Gevorgyan Spiritual Lyceum and Vazgenyan Scholar's Home in Sevan admitted 12 students. There is a total of 121 students at Gevorgyan Spiritual Lyceum. The lyceum has 17 clergymen and 27 mundane lecturers.
