Armenia-Azerbaijan - 2:2
Armenia faced Azerbaijan in round 8 of the World Team Chess Championship in China.
In the first pairing, Armenia's Sergei Movsesian tied his game against Vugar Gashimov of Azerbaijan.
Minutes later, Levon Aronian and Teimur Radjabov tied their game, while Gabriel Sargissian lost to Shakhriyar Mamedyarov on the forth board.
Vladimir Akopian-Rauf Mamedov was the central game of the meeting which equalized the score between the teams -2:2.
With 2 ties, 1 loss and 1 win, Armenia consolidated its position on top of the tournament standings with 13 points.
In the last round scheduled for July 26, Armenia will rival Ukraine which took a 2,5:1,5 victory over the USA.
So far Armenia has been unbeaten at the World Team Championships in Ningbo, including victories against Israel, Egypt, China, India, Hungary, and draws against Russia, the United States and Azerbaijan.
