President meets mayor
Serzh Sargsyan today received Mayor of Lyon, President of the Community Association in Lyon, Gérard Collomb.
Sargsyan mentioned the major role of decentralized cooperation in the high-level Armenian-French relations.
"I am pleased to see that the cooperation between Lyon and Yerevan is ongoing and that it is contributing to the strengthening of friendship between both countries and peoples. The Armenian-French friendship traces back to centuries, and the mutual compassion has provided our Armenian compatriots with the opportunity to fully integrate into the French society and show their capabilities. I am certain that the cooperation between Yerevan and Lyon will continue and develop with new initiatives and clear-cut programs," said Serzh Sargsyan.
Sargsyan also thanked mayor Gérard Collomb, his staff and Lyon's council members for their attention and support to Armenians and the Armenian Cause. "The Armenian people are grateful to those who understand the Armenians' pain, recognize and condemn the Armenian Genocide as they fight against denial," Sargsyan underlined.
