Artur Gabrielyan in leaders’ group
Armenian chess master Artur Gabrielyan had a successful start in the Lev Polugayevsky memorial competition in Samara.
The Armenian chess player representing Russia scored the same number of points after the second round and is currently in the group of leaders. In the third round, Artur Gabrielyan will face off with Kyrgyz Semetey Tologontegin with white figures.
There are 124 chess players participating in the memorial competition. They will compete for not only the grand prize through the Swiss procedure, but also passes to the final stage of the Russian championship play-offs.
