53 million dollar program
The managing council of the program "Rural Capacity Building" held its first session in government headed by Prime Minister, chairman of the council Tigran Sargsyan.
The council members discussed the annual plan-budget for 2011 and the plan for annual purchases in 2011 and 2012. Director of the "Office for Implementing Rural Economic Development Programs" Sergey Virabyan presented details on the 53-million dollar project's four major components, including "Support for fruit and walnut production", "Rural infrastructures", "Program management" and "Loans for gardening".
The head of government assigned to modify the 2011 plan-budget, as well as make comments and suggestions in the 2011-2012 annual plan for purchases and present them to the council.
The council discussed issues related to the establishment of the "Armenian Fruit" share-holding company of the program "Rural Capacity Building". During the session, the issue related to the format for the inter-departmental commission of the "Office for Implementing Rural Economic Development Program" was discussed.
The council also confirmed the list of communities selected by the prescribed order for gasification in 2011-2015 within the framework of the "Restoration of infrastructures" component of the program "Rural Capacity Building", as well as gave consent to the proposal to implement more activities for gasification in the Aghavnadzor and Arpi communities of Vayots Dzor province.
