Criminal case filed in connection with enteric infection
A criminal case has been filed in connection with enteric infection in Yerevan's Nubarashen district under Article 279 of the Criminal Code.
On June 3-4, about 25 citizens of the district were taken to Nork Infection Hospital with acute enteric infection.
According to the preliminary information, the infection was caused by drinking water. It was found out that Garni pumping station terminated operations after the overflow of the River Azat, causing a decrease in water pressure and depriving the district of water. Moreover, the water pipeline turned out to have been damaged between buildings N9 and N11 which, in turn, led to the disruption of water supply.
Water samples were taken for examination. The results of the expert opinion will be informed additionally, reports the Office of Prosecutor General.
