Pyunik falls behind
Armenia's champion Pyunik ended their game against Banants in a draw (1:1) in Round 11 of the Armenian Championship.
Pyunik's striker Edgar Manucharyan opened the score at 13th minute goal. In a couple of munites, Banants' Brazilian striker Beto scored an equalizer.
"I am displeased with the team. Our footballers need time to demonstrate a better football," Banants' chief coach Rafael Nazaryan said after the game.
Pyunik's chief coach Vardan Minasyan said that the team showed a beautiful game.
"The outcome was logical. The most important is that none of the players has got injuries," said Minasyan.
In other league games, Ulysses Yerevan beat Gyumri's Shirak 1-0 and Kapan's Gandzasar smashed outsider Ararat 5-0 to take the first and second positions respectively.
Mika Yerevan lost to Impuls Dilijan 0-1 to fall into fifth place.
The games of Round 12 are scheduled for June 11-12, for the national team is training for a Euro-2012 qualifier against Russia to take place in St. Petersburg on June 4.
