Police to check fans before Armenia-Russia qualifying match
About 1000 football fans have arrived in Armenia from Russia to watch the Armenia-Russia Euro 2012, Yerevan Police Chief Nerses Nazaryan told journalists on Friday.
Another 500 Russian fans are due in Armenia on March 26.
Nazaryan said that the Armenian police will be implementing exceptional security measures and will check all fans before entering the stadium.
"We must strictly maintain public order," said the chief of the police adding that Armenian and Russian fans will be seated in different tribunes.
Nazaryan also said a large screen will placed at Yerevan's Charles Azanvour Square for people to watch the football match live.
