Due to record
Russian jumper Ivan Ukhov was injured while trying to set a new world record.
During the international athletics tournament held in Banska-Bistritsa, Slovakia, he won 1st place with 238 cm, after which the Russian athlete wished to set a new world record by raising the pole another 6 cm. However, the athlete injured his leg after the third unsuccessful attempt and left the platform with a limp.
"First, I wanted to pass the 239 cm, which was the record for that tournament. But then I thought about setting a new world record. Unfortunately, it didn't work out," said Ivan Ukhov after the tournament.
The first medical exam showed that the injury is not too serious and that he can take part in the next tournament.
