All Armenian tourists spending their holidays in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, have returned to Armenia.

Tez Tour agency assisted the return of the 164 Armenian tourists on February 5. The agency will not resume flights to Egypt unless the situation in the country is stabilized.

Another 40 Armenia citizens remain in Egypt, according to RA Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tigran Balayan.

Anti-government protests started in Egypt on January 25, with crowds of tens of thousands demanding President Hosni Mubarak step down after three decades in power. However President Hosni Mubarak pledged on February 1 to step down during the next presidential elections in September. This incited new clashes between pro- and anti- government forces in the central square in Cairo. Over 300 people have been killed and 5.000 injured in the country.
