Mika women’s club played excellently
"Armenian Mika women's club performed excellently at the European Chess Club Cup, while men's club failed to justify our hopes," Deputy Chairman of the Armenian Chess Federation Smbat Lputyan told A1+.
"Our chess players won the two favourites of the tournament and lost to weaker teams," he said.
"During his first match, Levon Aronian was the third, which is not a bad start. Unfortunately, Arman Pashikyan lost his confidence after the first defeat. If he could overcome the psychological barrier, the team would score better results," said Lputyan.
As for the women's club, Lputyan said they played excellently and took the third place which is a good result for Armenia.
