Twelve of the nineteen Armenian participants of the first round of the Armenian boys and girls world chess cup in Greece scored victories, two tied their matches and five lost.
The Armenian chess players up to 10, 14, 16 and 18 year olds started the championship with victories. The girls won three of the six matches and lost three of them.
The matches of the second round will be held today. The duel between participant of the up-to 18 year old chess players, chess master Samvel Ter-Sahakyan and Indian international master Priyadharshan sparked much interest.
Let us remind that the world chess cup is being held according to the Swiss procedure and is composed of 11 rounds.
